Once you are engaged, the to-do list begins. You know when you want to get married, perhaps you even know where. But, with all of the stuff you have to do, how do you decide what wedding planning tips are important and what can be put to the side?
Wedding planning is a lot of work – which is why some brides gladly take over a year to plan it all out. Regardless of how much time you’re giving yourself, there are a few things you need to know right now, whether you take action on those things or not.
You Are Going to Be a Nervous Wreck – And That’s OK
People will try to tell you that you don’t need to feel anxious or worse, that it is not alright to be a nervous wreck. But, most of these people have never planned a wedding or their own wedding was so long ago they just don’t remember what it was like. You’re nervous, you have anxiety and that is completely normal. Don’t let anyone tell you something different. You don’t know what the wedding day will turn out like and if everything will go perfect. But, that is OK. Most important is to know you are about to marry the person you love and while it may seem chaotic, just don’t forget what matters most.
Stop Sweating the Small Stuff – It’s Not Worth It
Nerves are OK, but sweating the small stuff isn’t. If you are constantly sweating or worrying about the little details that really do not impact your wedding day, you are going to be a wreck on the actual day. So, don’t worry if the shade of pink is the “right shade” or worry about if every strand of hair will be perfectly curled. Yes, worry if the venue will be ready when you arrive, but the minor details that don’t matter should not ruin it.
Get Your Beauty Rest
You’re planning a wedding and that is a lot of work. Don’t skip on precious sleep just to finish one more to-do. Instead, make sure you’re getting six to eight hours of sleep each night to take care of yourself. Not only will adequate sleep help you handle the wedding planning process a little easier, but it will also help you look refreshed on your wedding day. Also, the less sleep you get, the more likely you are to catch a cold – and no one wants to be sick on their wedding day.
Enjoy the Moment
There is a lot you have to do to plan your wedding, but if you don’t stop and enjoy the process you will regret it later. Spend time with those helping you plan your wedding and really think about everything you have. On the wedding day itself, don’t forget to just enjoy the day – not worry about what is or isn’t going right.
By just enjoying yourself, ignoring the minor details and having a good time you can really get the most out of your wedding
